Week of November 4-8

We used our globes during social studies to locate North America, Asia and Europe. We compared and contrasted traditions and holidays that countries in each of the continents celebrate.

We worked hard with our David Shannon inspired centers this week!

Fine motor and teen number practice, all in one! :)

We made a human number line with our teen numbers. The children were given numbers and gave each other clues to get in number order. The only catch: children couldn't read their own number. They could only follow the clues given to find their correct spot!

Who doesn't love a little teen number musical chairs?! ;)

Teen Number Showdown! We had a blast playing our new, favorite game! I call out a number and tell the children to write it as quickly as they can. After they write the number, they need to cover it up until the magic word, "Showdown!" is called.

While completing our Second Step lesson, we practiced showing how we feel about certain things. We learned that different people can feel different ways about certain things. The first picture shows the different reactions we had to going swimming in a lake. :)
This picture is the reaction we had to imagining that our parents bought us a surprise!
We practiced building and then writing teen numbers. We are working on understanding that teen numbers are valued as one set of ten and some leftover.

We enjoyed having August's mom as our Mystery Reader!
Thanks for coming to read to us!
We had an awesome time cheering on our Reed School
friends during the Passport Parade!
