During Second Steps, we practiced using self-talk to help us follow directions. Self-talk is used when we quietly repeat directions to ourselves to get a job done.
During phonics, we used our ABC charts to teach our partner(s) what we know about beginning sounds.
Check out our creativity as we explored with our table tubs!
Our theme was community helpers this week! We practiced identifying and counting numbers, reading and writing the room and writing a community helpers book using the sight word phrase: I am a________.
During science, we learned that because we studied, observed and made notes about rocks, we are scientists! We are loving our science unit about our five senses!
We learned a new song during interactive writing to help us remember how to write the sight word "the." Have your child sing it to you! Hint: It follows the beat of London Bridge is Falling Down.
During reading workshop, we worked on making text-to-self connections. We drew ourselves on Post-It notes to mark pages that we could add a connection to in our non-fiction books. We then shared those connections with our partner(s) during partner reading time.
We had a bunch of fun playing a silly team building game! During this game, we all took off one shoe and put it in the middle of the carpet. We were only able to use our feet to get the correct shoe back to each person! It was tricky, but we figured it out and helped each other in the process!
