Week of September 30-October 4

In phonics, we studied our alphabet charts and used the sight words "look" and "see" to label interesting parts that we wanted to teach our partner(s) about.

We finished up our community helpers unit by working as doctors, veterinarians, firefighters, construction workers, police officers and chefs.

In science, we used our sense of smell to identify the different smells on scratch and sniff stickers. We used our sense of touch to identify items in our mystery bags. It was tricky not being able to use our sense of sight for this activity!

We compared and contrasted different ABC charts and we learned that we can use different charts to help us become even stronger readers and writers.

We enjoyed our fire safety centers!

In math, we used Memory cards and paper clips that allowed us to practice using the vocabulary larger than, smaller than, taller than and shorter than.

We had a great time taking a listening walk during science!
We recorded the sounds that we heard in our science journals.

We celebrated Nora's birthday! Happy Birthday, Nora!

We also had a great time celebrating Anna's birthday! Happy Birthday, Anna!

Anna's sister came to read us Anna's favorite book!

We had an awesome time during our first Panther Day!
