Week of October 14-18

We played a fun game during phonics with our
whiteboards. I named a sight word and the children
wrote it as quickly as they could.

We were each given a number 1-10 during a math lesson.
We then listened for a number and if we were one more than
the number called we would stand up and show our number.
We would do the same if we were one less than the number called.

We created a human number line!
The Ladue Fire Department visited us to discuss fire safety.
We got to watch as the truck pulled away for duty!

We practiced what to do if a room we are in quickly fills with smoke.

 Center fun!

Bobbing for words!

We used special "pointer fingers" to help us read around the room.

We practiced writing the sight word phrase "I can" during interactive writing.

We loved having our first mystery reader, Finley's mom!
Thanks for reading to us!

Week of October 7-11

We built a life size alphabet chart during phonics!

We worked during math to sort
like animal cards together.

We had a blast during our science centers!

We found out that science can sometimes be a bit messy. :)

We worked hard during centers!

Bobbing for sounds!

We practiced writing the sight words "look" and "at" during interactive writing.

More science fun! We were testing our rocks to see if they
would sink or float. We found one rock in our room that would float!

We had a great time at the Magic House!
