Week of September 16-20

One of our phonics activities had us busy using
the letter sounds from our names to help us label
supplies and areas in our classroom.

We also used what we know about the names in KR to help us with our writing during phonics. We worked with our partners to make sure we captured all of the sounds that we hear in the words that we are writing on paper.

We celebrated Dot Day on Monday by wearing dots on our clothes and by making projects that started with just a small dot on our paper.

We continued to practice partner reading with our partner.
We are working to remember to sit knee to knee and elbow to elbow with
our partner while keeping the book in the middle for both partners to read.

During social studies, we worked on drawing and writing
about a rule that we follow at home to help our families stay
safe and get along.

During math, we played a fun game that involved us
rolling dice, counting spaces and racing against our partner(s)!

We added the sight word "me" to our word wall this week.
Before adding it to the word wall, we practiced
writing the word during interactive writing.

We continue to work hard on reading silently to
ourselves during reading workshop.
